Investigate and recommend software purchases, including database, word processing, statistical packages, and graphics packages. Assist staff in the transfer of data from package to package. Write manuals and develop applications for the production of technical documents in Microsoft Word, and maintenance of databases in Access. Advise staff on usage and customization of Netscape, PageMaker, CorelDraw, Eudora, Word, Excel, ProCite, Surfer, ArcView, Access, Front Page, Claris Home Page, and Paradox programs, among others. Advised staff on World Wide Web and Internet access, particularly security and privacy issues. Completed Y2K survey for the office and made recommendations for updating.
